Junior buying an 870...
Junior stopped into the local pawn shop and put an 870 super mag on layaway for $217. In his opinion he said it looked "real clean" and felt "nice and tight"...

I later learned it is an "express" super mag with synthetics... Still a decent price if it passes muster under pop's scrutiny.

An 870?? Sounds like that ol' teenage rebellion thing to me, what with Dad being pretty much a Mossberg guy...
Decent price, though. Good for Junior.

Oh, I won't spit on a remington... But I told him I will help him learn how to tear the gun apart to clear a double feed...

Not a bad price at all these days. Doublefeeds? You say that like it's a bad thing... Maybe I need to pick up a 500 next time I get the OK from the boss.

Now he just needs a heat shield, sum side saddles and an extended mag (pistol grip stock too?). Surely Pops will talk sum sense into 'im.
I got my Express fer one single bill from a fella that had just upgraded to a Browning double. I talked to him a few months ago and he said that Browning was stolen from his house and he though he offer that $100 for his old gun back. I politely declined.

Brent,
WHERE DID YOU GO WRONG?? . Congrats on Junior's fine purchase. Just keep reminding him that just because it has a 3.5" chamber, doesn't mean he HAS to fire 3.5" shells. . His shoulder and his wallet will thank you.........

He said he laid the down payment to shoot deer in front of a buddy's deer dogs... I tried to offer him the Marlin 336c and he said "Naw I wanna hit the deer" Silly kid... in ten or fifteen years I will no longer be here and he will be asking... " I try to pattern my gun but after 20 3 1/2 inch slugs I am all over the paper"... Ya'll just remember to remind him..."yer daddy, ye' ol' hogdogs didn't need such novelty gizmo rounds"...
