I have just seen a cooey 12ga that is a break with hammer much like a HR, the rec is chrome but not the barrel. It is stamped made by winchester firearms for cooey in Coborg Ontario Canada. Does anyone have any info on this shotty.

IIRC, Cooey made it for Winchester. A variant of the Model 37.

Cooey, the national gun of Canada...Winchester models relabeled with a Cooey stamp or in later years were actually made here in Canada using the Winchester patterns under license...
The single shot Cooey is by far the most common shotgun found up North as it was very reliable and damn inexpensive to purchase and killed just as well as any other shotgun...You'd go into any Hudson's Bay Co. store in the north and there would be the line-up of Cooey bolt action 22s and single shot shotguns... Heck, you'd go into any old time hardware store in small town Canada and the same line-up of Cooeys were there... Value? you'd be lucky to get $50 for it...12 bore and .410 gauge were the most common but I've got a 16 bore (collect all 16s) and sold a 20 bore a couple of years ago for that amount...
