winchester 1897

I have an old winchester 1897 shotgun, the gun has been reblued and has had an adjustable choke along with an after market butt pad placed on it, I don't belive the gun is worth much with all of the above having been done to it, and I don't shoot skeet well with it. I have always liked the look of the 1897 trench guns and some for some reason find the ridiculous idea of a bayonet mounted on a shotgun amusing, does any one know were i can get the proper heatshield and bayonet lug that was on the trench versions? I know its kind of silly to DE-sportarize a shotgun, but i already have it and have always wanted one of the trench versions.
thanks for your time!

Gun Parts Corp probably has them. I've also seen them in Shotgun News. You know you can buy a complete '97 from Norinco WITH the heatshield, right?

I agree. The poly-choke, reblue, and the recoil pad do hurt the collector value. Make it what you want.

I don't think need has anything to do with it.
