38spl-large primer?
Was doing some 38 reloading tonite and ran across a "Peters" 38spl case that was made for large pistol primers. Can anyone give me a history lesson on this variant! thanks

You need a geologist, not a historian. They have to be older than dirt.

Large Primer Pocket in .38 Spl.
I would like to see some feedback on this question. I've handled, reloaded, & fired many thousands of 38 spl cartridges over the last 40+ years sand I've never seen or heard of it.

Interesting indeed!
Oh, Mii-ike! Ignatz, just to be sure. What are the exact markings on the headstamp? |

PETERS S&W SPL Years ago I bought a lot of older brass at a flee market. I'm guessing it came from that batch.

I ran across the .357mag cases with LP primers a few years ago. I tossed them aside as a collectors item. Never saw a .38spec. though, loading an awful lot of .38s. Quantrill

The 38spl Large Primer Pocket Brass Was From The 38/44
Ammunition era, circa the '30's.
Same with the large primer 357MAG brass. |
