I figure this would be the best place to ask.

Is there a set standard for brass expansion? How do you know if your chambers are oversized and your brass is expanding too much? With factory ammo, I've found that my .40S&W (Walther P99) expand (bulge) out on average .012" at the widest. My .45ACP (Sig P220) expand out on average .008".

Is this normal? How much is too much?

My Ruger p944 brass expanded about .005", My Beretta 96's are about .006-.007". I have seen S&W Sigmas from the local PD that expanded .012-.014", and a Glock 23 that went up about .017". Hope that helps some.
