A Strange Question for you

I've read Outdoor Life, Field and Stream since childhood.
I'd like to find a certain picture. One of the main contributors was a big game hunter and shooter of some repute. Maybe 'Asgaard" or something, if it's the right person.
In the magazine was an article about an African hunt and he took his daughter with him. Name also unknown. Here's what i'm leading up to.
He posted a picture of his daughter with her sidearm of choice to wear on the hunt. As I recall, the girl was about 8-9 and carried a 6" S&W revolver if my feeble memory serves.
Can anybody give me a clue of names, year, other info for a search, or a link even? Thanks in advance.

I thought so, but I'm not getting anywhere in my searches. And I don't know if he's the one I'm looking for either.

Not sure is Finn had a daughter. If the girl was a redhead, I think it would be Craig Boddington. His doughter has hunted with him wuite a bit.

Could it be Col. Cooper and Lindy?

He wrote and published a lot over the years, in different places.....

Yep, Finn had a daughter.

I met him briefly once, and spoke with him a number of times, when I was on Rifleman's staff in the early 1990s.

Very, VERY nice guy, and very unassumping.

Peter Capstick was alwasy nice, but he could be a bit pompous.

Charles Askins? Well he just scared the absolute **** out of me. He's the only person I've ever met whom I would unhesitatingly call a born killer. Had he lived in the Old West I think he would be one of the legends on par with Hickock, Hardin, or Earp.

Mike. Thanks for the insights. Charlie Askins was definitely the tough old Montana cowboy genre.
