neck sizing the 22 hornet

the 22 hornet seats on the rim,so if you neck size only for your gun the hull will be fire formed and give better accuracy then a full length sized case.
with the American guns and the looser saami chambers this is real important for 22 hornet accuracy .
so i never full length re-size my hornet cases,it just over works the brass and does not let the case center the round well, and effects accuracy.
so if you want your hornet to shoot use lil'gun powder ,rem. six and one half pistol primers ,neck size only, always use a light to medium crimp and know your twist rate .
as i said above i have two clips for my cz 527 one will take bullets well over the 1.73 suggested col. which enables me to shoot the hornady flat base 45 grn soft nose #2230,this bullet is a my go to varmint bullet. it retains weight does not blow up and is easy on pelts.

Off hand if I remember correctly this load is close to max so work up your own load.

I use 9 grains of A2400 under a 40 grain V-max. Fire formed cases neck sized only. I get groups between .5 and .75 all day long ( wind is the killer). The only other bullet I've been able to match this accuracy with is the Hornady 52g BTHP, but I had trouble getting it to mag length and stuck with the V-max.
