Barrel Adapter or Thread the End of Barrel

I just bought a new ruger .22 mag and wanted to put my suppressor on it but the barrel is not threaded. I was wondering, is it possible to buy an adapter that will stay secure on the slick barrel and then I can screw my suppressor into the adapter, OR am I going to have to get the end of the barrel threaded. Thanks
