Five to ten would be a Good average for me. Except when my pal holds his big "sight-in" day on his farm. With several younger guys not having shot a lot of various types of guns, I take just about as many as I can get in the back of my truck.

1 or 2 typically. I try to bring every thing the same caliber so ill take my 1895 and my BFR because both are 45-70s or ill take my marlin and my Coonan Because both are 357 magnums.

I generally take no more than 2 to the range. This excludes my jframe which I carry concealed all the time, but may not necessarily shoot. Shooting any more than that becomes a real pain when it comes time to clean.

I never take less than 3 handguns and 2 rifles. sometimes I take as many as 5 each.
as for cleaning 20 minutes each is more than sufficient. If you don't get it clean after solvent, brush, and 3-5 patches then you need to re-evaluate your choice of ammo. I use cast bullets in almost all my weapons and when I see signs of leading I know I need to change something, velocity, bullet composition, or maybe a gascheck is necessary.

I take from 3 to 6 when I go but I don't clean them all every trip. I try to clean every 200 rounds in my handguns, .22 LR less often. Shotguns less often. You can create wear when cleaning especially the bores and the crowns so be careful. I do wipe them down every time they are handled and if it's a high powered rifle I do clean it every time except during hunting season.

At least three, sometimes five ... I take my EDC and my nightstand gun every time, to exercise them, refresh the ammo they're loaded with and make me clean them ... usually also take my Smith .22lr and my XDm-9 because it makes me look like a much better shot than I really am, dazzling the other shooters with my brilliance ...

Usually 2 or 3...a couple 9mm and a 45. When I go with a friend, he ususally brings 2 or 3...a 380, 38/357, & a 22 and we shoot 'em all.

Usually two. I often "warm up" with a 22 on the cheap, then switch to whatever I want to practice or whatever I've modified recently that needs zeroing. Sometimes instead I'll just take a couple pistols out that are scheduled for regular cleaning anyway. Might as well dirty em up first

Anywhere from 1 to all of em but you can be dang well sure that if I get back late they ain't gonna see a cleaning. Heck, depending on numbers of rounds they may not see a cleaning for days, maybe weeks.

More than that is a bit of a burden to carry on your own, unless you go with someone.

I clean everything, slide, frame, trigger area (gunk gets built up there) barrel ejector and extractor. I should make a video and show you how I clean. I remove gunk from moving parts/areas. Every 500 rounds or so I remove extractor (on my Glock) and clean in there all teh gunk built inside deep.

Depends.

Tomorrow when I go to the club that is one hour away I'll be taking 5 handguns and 3 rifles.

Of the 5 handguns I'll be;
1. Testing one that I recenty repaired
2. 2 that I have whipped up test black powder cartridges fpr
3. 2 that I have whipped up test smokeless loads for
4. The last one is my Pietta New Army. I just have to shoot that thing.

Of the 3 rifles;
1. I have whipped up gallery loads to test using the Enfield No.4 Mk II
2. The 9mm AR I had to tweak the mag block. I have to test it before I sell it.
3. My old JC Higgins Model 31 .22 that needed some tweaks due to failure to fire issues.

Once I get home I'll clean the firearms I shot with BP loads. The others I'll get cleaned over then next week.

Who knows what I'll take out next time......

ALWAYS twelve handguns in 22LR, 38SPL, 44RUSSIAN, 44SPL, 44-40, 45COLT, 45ACP, ALL in single Action revolvers, plus, usually three 22LR autoloading pistols for my wife to shoot. I also shot up a bunch in a S&W M624 4" just to keep my hand in for DA shooting.
Sometimes two or three rifles go along, all of 'em leverguns in the above mentioned calibers.
In 2012 we shot up 15,688 rounds and never made it to the range in four of those twelve months.
And so it goes....

I always have my Commander with me so it "semi-automatically" goes with me to the range. I like to practice a few drills with it once a week or so if I can. In my bag, I usually take my Hi-Power and a couple of revolvers du-jour just for fun. Usually 4 guns altogether.

If I'm by myself I stick to three. I know that I'm probably only going to shoot two of them but it's nice to get a bit of choice in the matter while I'm there. I find I have between one and two hours of good shooting before my aim goes to pot and that's just not enough time to put serious work into more than three.

On the other hand, if I'm bringing buddies I'll usually have 5 or more. The biggest problem with that is the cleaning afterwards - even now they're glaring at me, demanding attention even though it's been a couple of months since I've been out last.

If I am taking a bunch of kids plinking ...... everything that I can afford to feed. Wanna shoot this? That? The other one?

New shooter? Whatever he/she wants, + a .22 or two.

Load workup by myself? The gun/guns I'm loading for, and my Carry gun.

I usually take the three I have (Taurus PT709 Slim, FNP-40, Beretta Nano) but I'm just gonna start taking my Beretta Nano. It's the most fun gun I have to shoot in my opinion.

I always take at least two. I have only returned to shooting recently so my options are limited at the moment but I'll usually take 1 handgun and a rifle or 2 handguns. Just got my second rifle so I'm looking forward to toting both of those to the range.

Today I took 6 guns....3 pistols and 3 rifles. It took me about 50 minutes to do a total of 200 rounds.

Ruger SR9-C = 40 rounds
Springfield XD-40 = 40 rounds
Ruger 22/45 = 30 rounds

SKS = 30 rounds
Ruger 22/45 = 45 rounds
Marlin 22 mag = 14 rounds

This was a good session, just about the right number of rounds.

Besides......with the ammo panic going on right now....don't want to shoot it all up too fast.

I try never to take more than 3, and lately it's been 1 at a time. I hate all the cleaning involved, and also when I take 3 different guns I don't shoot any of them well because of the differences in triggers, weight, recoil etc.

I would rather take a round of 50BMG to the foot than a 22short to the base of the skull. all 26 of my guns are 45/70 govt, 357 mag, 22 or 12 ga... I believe in keeping it simple. Wish my wife did as well...
