I don't have a 20 g barrel (I made the mistake and got a 12 g slug barrel!) but I have had very good performance out of the Hornady SST's in it. I also had good luck with the 20 g SST's in my son's Mossberg 500 Cantilever 20 gauge barrel. I sighted it in with 5 shots and he shot his first deer this year. It was dead on at about 50 yds. That's good enough for an 8 yr old! I recently got Hornady SST's from Sportsmans Guide for under $10.00 a box shipped. I had to order ten boxes, but if you find someone else needing the saem thing it's a good way to save some MULA!
The best I can get is about 4" group at 100 yds.......but most of that is me, flinching just before I squeeze the trigger. You'll do much better with 20 g's! |

I got the 12 ga on another forrum...Got a really good deal on it..But my son really wanted it badly..So I passed the deal on to him..Then thought it over and bought the 20.. I hear the 12 is a mule to shoot? I think the 20 ga in a 3 inch will be a good choice. I am in hope's to get it out to 200 yds... I have never shot a deer past 100 yds but I wanna be ready lol... Thanks Drop
