Happy Handgunner
Well, it was the last day and the first day all at the same time. Michigan ends deer season a half hour after sunset on Jan 1st. The only firearm season open is late private land antlerless in the southern third of the state and archery statewide. I scored this big doe at 5:10 PM 01/01/2011 with my S&W 629 44 mag. I used my own reloads and was quite pleased with the results. She was broadside at 35-40 yards and I made a shot that was a bit low. However, I had a great blood trail and 80 yards later she was mine. I have been ribb'in all my friends that going in to 2011 that the score is Jeff 1 and them 0.

Always fun to get one with the revolver. What's your load?

I use Sierra 210 gr JHC over 26 grs. of W296. This recipe has given me great results shooting off a rest at 100 yards.
