Can anyone tell me....

....the headspace specs on a .45 Colt?

I checked headspace using a case with a rim thickness of .056. I came up with .063 to .064 on an Uberti Cattleman and a Ruger Vaquero respectively.

I think this is within the specs, but I would like to be certain.

SAAMI says 45 Colt cartridge rim thickness is .060" +.000" -.011", so .056" is OK, and .45 Colt chamber dimensions say thickness for the rim is .060"-.074", so .063" is OK. I wouldn't worry about it either way.

May I ask what the problem is? Headspace is not usually a problem area in a revolver unless someone has replaced or altered the cylinder.
