Comedy club?

If the law states I cannot carry in an area primarily devoted to consuming alcohol, would a comedy club/Improv fit that description?

May I suggest posting the law you are referring to?

Yeah, too vague of a query. "Devoted to...." isn't conveying what I think you are meaning.

Think of it this way, however,
If a comedy club is devoted to comedy...
If a strip club is devoted to strippers...
If a sports bar is dedicated to sports...

No, I don't think their attraction theme is going to constitute whether or not you can carry there. Their primary way of making money is through selling drinks.

You can't carry in any place that serves alcohol by the drink, unless it's a restaurant that makes more than 50% of its money from the sale of food. I doubt a comedy club sells that much food.

Thanks for reopening. It was the first time I have ever been to an Improv. They had a regular menu with normal restaurant fare, charged a cover fee and had a two drink minimum (I had Coke).
