I've got enough guns, time for some sights.
Trying to fix up what I have as I'm not participating in whatever the heck is going on in the gun market these days.
For self defense semi-autos, what do you prefer for after market sights? General or specific suggestions welcome. Big question for me is fiber optic vs night sights. |

Trijicon HD night sights. Best of many worlds to me, YMMV.

I have a set of Trijicon's on my Glock 22 and Beretta 96. I have a set of Meprolights on my Glock 17 and Ruger 38. I like the Meprolights for shooting in daylight because of the brighter white outline. I think they are both about the same in the night. I don't think you could go wrong with either.

All of mine have the Ameriglo pro operator. They have a squared leading edge for one handed racking of slide on gun belt if necessary, the rear brightness is subdued to emphasize the front, and the rear is cut wider for fast sight acquisition. Trijicon is top notch too depending on what style you prefer.

TruGlo
I have been using TruGlo fiber optics on my Carry Glock 19 (this is also my IDPA match pistol) for as long as they have been out 9 years? Not sure of actual date I went to them.
As night sights they are very bright (in my case 3 green dots) in sunlight! you can glance at them, super bright! Forget the traditional sight picture, just line up those 3 green dots, perfect. |

I've got the Trijicon HD night sights on my Glock 19. The front sight is quick and easy to grab with your eye and the rear sights blend in smoothly in a non distracting manner.

Re: I've got enough guns, time for some sights.
I'm looking at the Warren Tactical black rear sight with red fiber optic front...none have mentioned that here.

I met a guy a few weeks ago with the fiber-optic sights, they are incredible!!!
Anyone know a good place to shop for them (for glocks) online? I'm also looking for someone in south Jersey for the installation |

I have trijicon nights sights on my glock27. I like them for night time, but for $85 I would've atleast liked them to do something during the day as well.

The Trijicon night sights on my M&P are great in the pitch dark, but at the range I can see a Novak 3 Dot White sight better. A friend has an XDs .45 with the Fiber Optic front sight, now that's something you can really see well. Now you must take into account that I'm an old bird that is far sighted.

I've never had a handgun with fiber-optic sights so can't offer any insight on them. For self defensive use, I guess it depends on where/how you think it'll be put to use.
In my case, my EDC has a set of SIG night sights on it, which is good for day/night usage. For home defense, I swear by a set of CT laser grips on a 1911. That way I don't have to fumble for my glasses on the nightstand. |

TruGlo Night Sights1 (877) 871 0718
You can install these yourself. Lots of Company's sell them, the above Phone # is the manufacturer. The Glock tool to put them on a Glock, is expensive, a Glock Armorer should have one, I do. These are fantastic, I can hit 6" plates in daylight at 20yds. In the dark, so bright. Just forget the traditional sight picture, put the 3 dots in a line, press! |

Best of both worlds. FO and Tritium. Truglo TFOs. I use the yellow rear and green front on my Glocks.

XS Big Dot sends you all the tools to do it yourself. that means it comes with the loctite, Glock tool, and the push to remove the old and reinstall the old.

Those Truglo TFO's sound about perfect.
I have a Dawson Precision fiber optic front sight on my M&P22 ($26) and it made a huge difference over the factory white dot. |
