In .308 - GAP 10, JP Rifles LRP-07, or the Les Baer .308 barrels are all far better than the POF. For a field gun - LaRue or FN SCAR 17. You'll have to get out and shoot different rifles before you try and make unquivocal statements.
I would disagree that the other barrels are FAR better than the Rock Creek barrels that POF uses in the P-308. Seriously. The GAP-10 MAY outshoot a POF, but not by much according to those who own both. The GAP-10's Bartlein barrel will certainly not outlast the nitrided barrel of the POF, the end user has to decide whether the 1/8th MOA accuracy difference is worth the trade offs between those two.

What barrels do JP and Les Baer use that are light years ahead? I believe Les Baer uses Krieger, but have nothing to reference.

I'm looking for something for reliability, not accuracy.
Get a nice, sloppy, hodgepodge of used milspec parts, hose it down with Mobil1 synthetic gear lube and start dumping mags.
That will run with Noveske, LMT, and certainly Colt.

"The Best" that "money can buy" ... if you are looking for an AR out of the box that is a great rifle, I highly recommend the Daniel Defense. Here's a video I made on it:

Nice video. I bet that barrel was hot as heck after that shooting. I prefer completely flattops.

I have flip up sights and an Aimpoint T1.
