Anyone purchased the 870P from SOG?
Has anyone actually received the prison trade-in Remington 870 Police Magnums from Southern Ohio Gun? I've been on their back order list since March, yet, they keep advertising them in their monthly flyer.

Local pawn shop here in MO received six of them back in early August. They looked good but had the good ole 870 rattle.

Yeah, slide rattle. Don't know how much ammo you have put through an 870 but after about 500-600 rounds of mag ammo the action will loosen and the slide will rattle a little, however the ole 870 will still keep on trucking. I believe our oldest service gun has about 6000 rounds through it.

DaveMcC, Maybe you need more experience with shotguns...
Personally I love the Mossbergs 'cuz they stay nice and quiet their whole life... Maybe Henry has the Rem 870 and Moss 500 mixed up? I ain't met a quiet Mossberg yet... Brent |

^ Agreed, I've never heard of an 870 that rattled, but I know the Mossy's fall apart and get pretty crappy

Ok, so the 870P trade-ins have been in the SOG flyer for nearly a year and it seems that no one has one. Does SOG have a habit of keeping out of stock items in their sales flyers?

I saw a guy with one at a gunshow last weekend and he told me he had bought it from a dealer. I asked the dealer and he said he had ordered several back in the summer but couldn't get any now. He also said he has had trouble lately with SOG. And for the record, I DO know the difference between mossberg and remington shotguns.
