Mil Surp Remington .22LR?
Anybody have any experience with this stuff? I usually avoid Remington ammo.

Since CMP designated it so
I don't know for sure but I suspect the military used it for small bore rifle competition until someone looked at the 5.56 round and decided that was redundant.

So where did you see this ammo? I just checked the CMP website, and all I saw was Aguila Centurion 22 rimfire.

I have purchased 15,000 rounds of it,,,
It was purchased from an estate for $60.00/case.
I bought three 5,000 round sealed cases of it last year,,, It's lead with a round nose and comes in a generic white box. So far I've shot up several 500 round bricks,,, I'm somewhere in the 6th brick if I recall correctly. It goes bang every time I pull the trigger,,, I haven't had one dud round yet. I don't use it in my semi-auto handguns. I have used it with my semi-auto Mossberg Plinkster,,, It cycles the action on that rifle well enough. Mainly I use it with my revolvers and single-shot rifles. The only complaint I have is that my revolvers lead up rather quickly,,, After a couple hundred rounds I push a lot of lead out of the barrel. I'll take a pic of it tonight,,, Just to see if we are talking about the same stuff. Aarond .

Stay away from that Aguila crap ammo. You will be lucky to get 100 rounds fired without a cleaning. Dirtiest ammo I ever bought.

Regular Remington .22LR is hit and miss as it is. I stay away from it - I get duds all the time. Usually there's a dud in each mag I load if I use Remington.
I don't know about the mil-surp Remington though... I never knew that it existed. In any case, cheap as it may be, I'll stick with my cheap standby - Federal bulk packs from Wal-Mart.

I forgot to take a picture,,,
But the Remington, stock number 4S22RSURP-5000, is exactly what I have.
For the price I paid (1.2 cents a round) it's good enough ammo. Aarond
