1/4 MOA calibration.
1.) If i have my 1/4 moa scope zeroed at 50 yards. How many + clicks of the turret would it be to go up to 100 yards?
2.)If i had it sighted in at 100 yards, how many - clicks to go down to 50 yards? 3.) what is the formula to get to your answers? Im new to the scope thing. (by the way its a .22lr) any advice would be appreciated.

With my limited knowledge I will give my best answer!
Someone with more knowledge than I have will be along shortly! Shoot your rifle at 100 yrds. If it hits 2" higher than the POA (Point of Aim), Then turn the knob 8 clicks. (8x1/4" = 2") If you want it sighted in at 50 yrds, just do the above at that distance. Best of luck!

The first problem is that the answer will vary with the particular ammo you use. Variations in bullet weight and muzzle velocity cause this.
If your .22 rimfire is zeroed at fifty yards, you should shoot at a 100-yard target and see how far is the bullet impact below your point of aim. Just guessing, three or four inches or thereabouts. (Been a while since I messed with a .22 at 100 yards. ) Say three inches and a 1/4 click scope, that would be 12 clicks. Never have worried about any formula; always been a "shoot and look" deal for me... |

Most .22 scopes are setup for 1/4" per click at 100 yards, see photos:
Rem 512_016.jpg Rem 512_017.jpg That's 4 clicks per inch at 100 yards, or 8 clicks at 50 yards. If for some reason your scope is 1/4" per click at 50 yards, which would be very odd, but 1/4" at 50 yards would be 1/2" per click at 100 yards, or 2 clicks to the inch to go from 50 to 100 yards.

A 1/4" click scope at 100yds will move your POI 1/8" at 50yds
