Loose magazine in my Remington Model 74.

I picked up a model 74, it's the cheap "Mart" version of a Remington 7400. The magazine moves up and down about an 1/8". Will this cause feeding problems? Should I buy a new magazine or is there some way to adjust the current one? Thanks

Sounds fine, don't worry about it.

Thanks, I'm going to put a few rounds through it in the morning.

When the mag is loaded the rounds pushing up will keep the mag from moving.

Even when the magazine is loaded it's loose. I fired 12 shots today in groups of 4. On shots 10 and 11 I had to give the bolt a slight push forward to lock the bolt in place. I'm suspecting the lugs are dirty. Tonight I'm going to break it down and give a thorough cleaning. For what I paid it's a fine rifle and is a pleasure to shoot.
