22-250 bullets with 1:14" twist
Anyone have luck with any bullets above 50 gr reloading / shooting in a rifle with 1:14" twist?

Mine does fine with a 52 gr SMK or a 55 gr spitzer.
It will handle some 60 gr flatbase but not others. |

I have had no problems with weights up to 55gr (Sierra 55gr blitz) have not tried anything higher. It did not like the hornady 55gr fmj-bt.

Yup
I shoot the 55gr Speer SP and the Hornady Vmax 55gr. Both shoot <.5MOA
The highest you can probably go with acceptable accuracy is 60gr.

I'm not sure what the twist was in my Ruger #1A but it shot 60 grain Nosler BT's fairly well. there wasn't any keyholing but 55 grain BT's shot better

Yes, the 64 gr WW PP bullet with 38.5 grains of 4350. My 24 inch Remington DL & 26 inch Winchester Sporter varmint barrels had no problem stabilizing it, actually it was an extremely accurate load and a very effective coyote killer. Shot numerous crows and jackrabits out to 450 yards. My 20 inch Micro Medallion did not like it much.

My 220 Swift with that same twist shoots the 63 gr Sierra SMP bullet (over IMR4064) extremely well.

My Ruger 1-V makes 5-shot groups at an average of .68" at 100 yards with Hornady's 53-grain flat-based match bullet over Varget.

My Remington 700 with a 1:14 twist shoots up to 55 grain bullets well.
After that the accuracy falls off a bit. Best Loads by bullet weight Weight -- Bullet ------ Avg Group 40 gr ---Nosler BT------0.316 50 gr ---Berger 22406--0.264 55 gr ---Sierra 1360----0.408 60 gr ---Sierra 1375----0.875 63 gr ---Sierra 1370----0.610 |

I have a tikka with the same twist. Would not shoot nolser bt so I went to v max and made a world pd difference. I talk to one of the guy's at sierra he said he had the same rifle the only 55 gr he could to shoot was the 55gr bthp and bking bullets.

Things that affect your success with that 14 twist.
1). Elevation 2). Bullet length 3). Speed I have found that the best results for me with a 14 twist were with 52 match bullets , Nosler, Sierra, Hornady. My 12 twist 22-250 shoots the 69 Nosler customs @ 4200 feet and above. Below that they tumble. Use a 52 match bullet Rem brass CCI BR or Wolf primers XBR 8208 powder when everything is right less than 1/2 moa out to 300+ yards.

I have a Tikka with a 14 twist. It shoots a 50 VMax very well. To stabilize a 55 grainer you have to really push the threshold. I get sorta decent groups with 55 VMax with .5 grain of H414 over published load - which won't do.
