Guys,
Help, I don't know if I should crimp my reloads for the Garand in 30-06? I m a newbie and was pretty sure that I didn't need to crimp, but today I was shooting my AR and a demilled LC 84 round misfired-- the bullet was shoved back into the shell. I'm not sure that it was an uncrimped round, or that the gunshow crap magazine was to blame. Help do I crimp any time I reload for a semi auto?

thanks
Dave

If at all possible (if your bullet has a cannelure, or if you have a Lee crimping die), crimp your bullets for a semi auto. If you can't crimp, at least make sure that the bullets are VERY tight in the neck. Loose bullets in the neck are an invitation for trouble in a semi auto. Hope this helps.

Be a little careful not to over crimp using a standard seating/crimping die. If you do, it can cause the sholder of the case to flare enough to make the round difficult or imposible to chamber.
