Has anyone here used an mp5 series weapon? My question is, when you release the magazine pushing the magazine release thingie, does it fall out or do you have to pull it out? Stupid question..........I'm a newbie.

When using the magazine release, either the M-16 type button or paddle, a magazine will fall free of the weapon if there are rounds left in the mag and the weapon is held upright.

An empty mag may or may not fall free depending on several factors such as wear on the mag, dirt in the mag well...

Having fired an MP5-A4 full-auto and burst, I can honestly tell you that the owner will not allow you find out at the range.

At $80-$100 in 'investment' per 30-round magazine, you will not be dropping these in the dirt to perform 'tactical-reloads' - at least, not for long.

The proper way to remove a mag from an MP5 is to grip the magazine with your off-hand, flap the lever and pull down while holding the lever in the forward position. This ensures positive control of the magazine and weapon at all times.
