Loading for the browning blr in 308

Justed picked up the blr on sunday and am having trouble with brass, someone said I may need a set of short based 308 dies, is this right? All I know is I cannot get the bullet to seat completely and close the action tightly to pop the safety free. Any ideas.

Thanks

Mine had a pretty tight chamber and I needed to separate my brass and use it exclusively with the BLR.

And I had to start with new brass. Small base dies didn't seem to help or hurt.

You might want to re-check your sizing die for proper adjustment if your case lengths are within spec.

Have similar issue in my BLR 270. Loads fit my Rem 700 BDL fine but will not close fully on BLR. Use new brass and keep those separated for BLR although start having problem after 2 or 3 reloads. Run brass through FL sizer and case gage fine
