They are shooting the Kentucky Long Rifle on Top shot

And they SUCKED at it LOL, some of them didn't even hit the board LOL. Not saying I could do any better with a patched round ball, and that one they were shooting just may have been a smooth bore, not sure. I just loved seeing the smoke pole on the tube!!

Ooooooohhhh, 'hate I missed it. I have been looking at and drooling over Kentucky rifles for about 4 years now, but don't know enough about them to pick one, and the price spread is so wild that I'd hate to get a bad one for a great price, when I could have had a really fun and enjoyable one of some kind for another 50 bucks. I really like my inline, but the long rifles just look really neat.

Traditions makes a Kentucky caplock rifle that is an accurate shooter.
What's really good about it is that it's a .50 caliber rifle instead of .45.
Their model doesn't have a lot of frills but it's a good basic Kentucky rifle.

Unless you'd prefer the fancier Traditions Shenandoah .50 with double set triggers and a brass patchbox. I've shouldered one and it's a very comfortable rifle.

Thats a good price on that traditions from the possible shop. The only shopping I've done for them was on Dixie's website and I wrote them off because I don't wanna drop 600 plus on a rifle, but HMMMMMM that definately is a can do and its TAX TIME HAHAHA And this year the return is MINE last year it was SWMBO"s (she who must be obeyed)

Take a look at Lyman for a good starter M/L rifle. I shoot a 50 cal. caplock "Trade Rifle' with my local club and it can hold it's own with most of the fancier rifles. Club rules dictate patched ball and real black powder. Lyman makes the Trade Rifle and the longer Great Planes Rifle in both .50 and .54 and either with cap or flint. All have a hooked breach for easy cleaning.
