Remington Speedmaster 241

Hello everyone. I'm restoring a Speedmaster 241 and wanted to know if the magazine inner tube assembly is interchangeable between the. 22 LR and. 22 short versions of said rifle. I'm thinking no, but hoping yes since I can only seem to find the LR assembly and mine says short only. Any input or advice appreciated! Thanks.

P.s. Do I buy LR version and customize it to fit the short? I'm thinking cartridge follower length will be an issue.

Welcome

I doubt there would be a difference in the inner mag tubes ! That rifle is labeled for shorts , because it's chambered for the .22 Short only . Welcome to TheFiringLine forums !

Thank you

Oneoldsap, I was really hoping that would be the answer. Thank you for the reply. I'll have to pay a visit to Numrich's.

I'd check to see if the Browning part might fit too , they are built on the same patent ! A lot of those type parts that Numrich sells are generic and have to be fited to the gun . Those 241s are a nice little .22 by the way , and antique too !

I'm also restoring a Meriden model 15 pump. 22. I love antiques and hate to see them waste away.
