Berger 62 gr 223

Does anyone have a load for the berger 62 grain FB varmint bullet and either reloader 15 or varget? I have the berger manual but it doesnt have the 62 grain bullet info in it. Any help would be appreciated thanks.

If you send Berger an e-mail asking for load data, they will provide it for you. I've e-mailed them in the past asking for load data for their 190 gr. bullets for a .300 Win Mag, and they got back to me quite quickly with a fairly comprehensive set of load recipes. Tell them just what you asked here, for a set of .223 - 62 gr. recipes for Varget and R-15, and they should be able to provide you with a set of load data.

Hope that helps. Let us know how it turns out.

Cheers!

What weights does it have and what is the data?

Speer 62gr FMJ data:

IMI brass 2.255 COL - CCI 400 Reloder 15 25gr 2,832 fps

Considering how light the bullet is, and the burn rate of Reloader 15, I'd just start with the Speer FMJ data and reduce 10% for a normal load work up. That would be a starting charge of 22.5. And I would also substitute a magnum primer instead of the CCI 400s.

I've personally shot 24gr of Re15 under an 80gr AMax (no published data on alliant's site). Now I shoot 24.4gr of Power Pro 2000-MR under 80gr AMax bullets (under published data max). Both with milspec primers.
