H&R
I was left an H&R Model 732 "Sidekick" pearl grips mint condition S&W Long with a serial number starting with an "M". What year might it have been made and what is it worth? Thank you for your help.

Erased because it was a duplicate. See below.

KFC,
'M' prefix indicates manufacture in 1952. Current research indicates that this Model was first produced circa 1959. Something seems out of kilter here. I have, in my collection, the prototype 732 which came from their "tool room" when they closed down. The "proto" doesn't exactly match the finished model examples dating from the '59 time period - and in fact has an 'N' prefix indicating 1953. You may have something quite special there, especially if it is marked as a Model 732 and actually has the 'M' prefix. (I think there may be an 'A' before the 'M' - perhaps difficult to see. Really need to see some pictures of this one, including views of barrel markings and the serial number on the but strap. Other than what I've written above - I just don't know what you have, without further infortmation. IMG_1400.jpg |

32 mag gave you the only info I would be able to give, probably more, but if you're interested in a sale let me know.

KFC,
Before you sell it, please provide more info about your piece. IF it is an unusual or rare item - it may go into the reference files and be included in the BLUE BOOK and in Bill Goforth's book. I'm in the process of updating the BLUE BOOK H&R section right now and any new info is welcome - for inclusion in the 32nd Ed. Thanks! |
