What NOT to do

Another idiot that should not be allowed a permit until he learns how to properly carry.

Today in Nashville we have the following news:

Man accidentally shoots self in leg at Walmart - WSMV Channel 4

From every situation, whether negative or positive, a lesson should be garnished. This is not uncommon for this particular situation.

1. Always have a gun in a holster that guards the trigger.

2. No matter how embarrassing it may become, if a gun starts to fall, let it go.
It is far safer to pick it up after it hits the deck than to try to grab it thus
grabbing the trigger and shooting one self, or worse, a person that could be
seriously injured (if you are lucky) and you get sued and have no defense.

I agree. First lesson is don't carry IWB without a holster. Thing that worries me though is too many stories like this will reflect badly on all of us. We have fought for a long time to get where we are today. I certainly do not want to see us moving backwards.

Yep, let's ban the proper procedure because someone did something the wrong way. Sad logic, but too true.

Closed as a drive-by. Anyone who's not sure what that means should read this, from TFL's rules.
