Age of Marlin 336?
I have a Marlin 336 Lever Action 30-30, I was wondering if anyone could help me date it?
The markings on the barrel say Marlin 336 S.C. and the serial number is F106XX. If anyone could assist me that would be wonderfull. If anyomore information is needed, please ask. The rifle was purchased new by my Great-Grandfather, I just don't have any idea of when. Dustin. [Edited by [email protected] on 03-07-2001 at 03:44 PM] |

F = 1949, according to the chart in the Standard Catalog of Firearms. Your Sporting Carbine was made in the second year of the 336 line.
