search function
when using the search function howcome there has to be atleast 3 letter words or numbers for the search to work, that makes it hard to search for something like "20 gauge slug accuracy" because 20 is not atleast 3 characters long

It indexes EVERY word in EVERY post. It is set to require 3 letters to keep it from indexing 2 letter words (in, it, to etc...). If we indexed all the 2 letter words the search index would be HUGE and extremely slow.

Keep in mind, some people type "20 ga" as "20ga". That would set 20ga as one four lettered word. A while ago, someone had posted about the same problem with 45 ACP. I've found that if you search for just the words with three or more letters, you can do ok. Don't forget to type AND between words that must be included.
slug AND accuracy Then look for headings/titles that have anything to do with 20 gauge. |
