S&W M&P 15-22 lubrication
I just cleaned and lightly oiled my new S&W M&P 15-22. I have not shot the rifle yet. On my Bushmaster XM 15, I have to run the bolt very wet. Is this applicable on the S&W? Any experience out there with this situation?
Thanks, Mac |

Mac,
I've got two of them, and don't run either of them with a ton of lube. If you do, they tend to get pretty nasty inside. Frog Lube has worked well for me with mine. Just a little lube and a light cleaning every 500-1k rounds of .22lr keeps them running 100%. Suppressed, they need to be cleaned a little more often though. Hope that helps. |

Just picked mine up 3 weeks ago. I have well over 1000 rounds down it now. Flawless so far. I clean it when i get home like any other rifle I have. I do nothing to the bolt at all. Run 2 maybe 3 patches down barrel and call it good to go.

Clean and lightly oil the bolt group and it will run all day long.

I don't run mine nearly as wet as I run my AR15s. There is so much less heat that is generated that it just hasn't been necessary. Nice, light coat of CLP will do just fine.

I'm with BillyJack3. Nice coat of CLP works all day. It's not the same operating system so it does not get as dirty or hot.
