&%$#@ - No SWAT mag in Wal-Mart !??
Yesterday I was in wally world looking over their magazine rack and noticed the emaciation covering it due to the lack of the backbone of all firearms magazines, SWAT. The only mag where you can truely slobber like a blithering idiot at the absolute un - PC selection of high quality works of art. Is this something we should look into as a group via petition or could it be that the lack thereof is due to financial / marketing factors ? I alone am a member of enough boards that in one day I am confident we could show them the light if members were advised of this disturbing situation. What say ye oh bringers of the best gun rag around ?

"I can't find it" is the single largest comlaint we hear about S.W.A.T. Rich is working on a larger distribution network, but it is, uh, complicated. (Rich uses more colorful language when discussing the topic )
The best I can tell you right now, is that we're working on it. Denny

We've tried with WalMart. They simply will not take us, as they believe we're not politically correct.....I resemble that remark! The print industry is in decline all around, firearms mags have been harder hit than most. Less space is available and the space that's there is geared toward teens and "mainstream" (whoever they are?) This past week Sports Afield shut down after more than a century!!!!! If you're really serious about the issue of forcing WM's hand, I'll provide a contact email and my thanks. Will assist in any way I can. Rich

Update:
Well, this is like the third e-mail they have sent me, hopefully things will get going. This winsnitch 2000 pro is really been a battle lately so I was slowed down considerably but all seems to be back on track. Wish we used Linux here @ work. Date: Wed, 01 May 2002 01:10:39 -0600 From: Help-53 To: Subject: Your Question Dear Mr. Knight, Thank you for contacting Walmart.com. We appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts with us. I am confident there is a significant enough customer base out there to make it a sound financial decision. Because of your stand on the issues of freedom by continuing to carry firearms related materials instead of bowing to the pressures of a small but vocal minority ala k-mart you all have become a staple for many hunters, firearms enthusiest and those who value individual choice. I simply feel it is a shame that certain classes of that group are not catered to in the magazine section. I am firends with many of the SWAT mag group but to show there is support out there I will be asking many non affiliates who value the magazine to voice their opinions also. Thank You for your time and quality and integrity of service your company upholds. Scud-
Don't know how I missed this one. Thanks much for keeping the faith. On the plus side, we've just signed a contract expanding S.W.A.T. newsstand distribution by 30,000 effective with the September run. Ruch
