Lee Saftey Prime - spring keeps popping out?

I read great reviews of the lee saftey prime so I have to ask, am I the only one having this issue?

I am on my 3rd saftey prime trigger for this issue. After a while the spring inside the trigger will pop out of the hole, so that when you press the safety prime, it doesn't slide forward and slick. I can take it apart, put the spring (which actually is not a spring, it looks more like a portion of a paper clip bent into a U shape) back into the tiny holes it belongs in, put it back together and load again for a while. A few rounds later it happens again. I own 3 trigger assemblies and all have this issue. Has anyone found a fix to make the paper clip stay in place?

that's really strange. Try calling Lee. I've done hundreds of rounds with mine and I haven't had any trouble. If there are any more details, I'm happy to help.

Thanks guys, I'll post a picture if I get a chance this evening so that you can see what I am talking about. I am also going to contact lee. I am on my 3rd replacement trigger for the same issue, but there is a possibility they were all made during the time when Lee was having a spring issue.

As it sits right now its a really poor design so surely it was just a bad lot or more people would be experiencing this.

Here are the photos as best I could take them. The "spring" looks more like a portion of a paper clip than a spring. It attaches to the sliding mechanism just by sticking the end of it into a small hole. When the slider goes forward as seen is picture 2, it will almost pop out of the hole. After several loads, it eventually does pop out.

I will let you know if I find out anything from Lee

I'm pretty sure that I read somewhere that Lee designs their equipment to be inoperable by Clemson folks!

I had the same problem. I tossed and just load them by hand. I can do it just about as fast. After 2 months of reloading I'm going with a Dillon 650 this fall.

Mine has worked OK, but I really don't see how, made with 100% cheap plastic. I just know it can't last much longer.

Spring pops out

I had that same issue. Some of the older units had springs that were just a touch too short on the end that enters the hole on the inside of the trigger. If you call Lee they'll send you a replacement spring that is longer on the end that
is popping out and that should solve your problem.
