RCBS AmmoMaster - opinions?

Years ago I reloaded using a Rock Chucker, and it worked very well for me. Now I'm thinking about getting back into the hobby, and after looking around and reading forum contents on Dillon vs Lee vs RCBS etc, I'm thinking about getting an RCBS AmmoMaster progressive. What do you think of the press?

Howdy Dwight:

I'm just now going trough the same dilemma:
what to buy if you just plan to start?
Check my post:"If you had to start you would buy......."?
A lot of people have sent in answers, and a lot of good tips.
I cant help you on your choice, but I have finally made up my mind, and purchased the Lyman t-Mag Turret press.
I did not like the single stage,nor did I want a progressive.
So I hope I found a happy medium.

Rather than the Ammo Master, you may want to check out RCBS's new Pro-2000 progressive. Very impressive. It's on my "next to buy" list.

The AmmoMaster was, I thought, just to trouble prone. I have one of RCBS's new 2000 progressives, however, with their strip primer system and think that it is a VERY good machine.

If you want to spend less money you might look at RCBS's new turret press.

I own an Ammomaster and it is a decent piece of epuipment.A couple of cons are; 1.Hard to set and crimp in different stations(the right way to do it). 2.Some types of brass are almost impossible to prime with out ripping the machine of the bench.I use a separate strip priming system. 3.You have to watch the silly rod for the powder measure is properly adjusted.It will change by itself. Other than that it works alright. Hopes this helps.
