reloads for brass?

Just a thought here. I always run into a few people I know at the lgs while checking for components that complain about not being able to find ammo. I load min. charge loads for plinking and I'm very meticulous and 100% confident that they are safe. I have over 2k rnds. stashed for 9mm and over 1k for .40. If I was to trade rounds for brass, what would be a fair ratio? I know, some are going to say don't do it! but like I said, it's just a thought.

figure your cost of components, wear on your press, your labor and you come up with the total cost for each caliber. Are you asking for new brass, cleaned and deprimed brass. dirty range brass, once fired brass.
You have to figure out what your break even point. hat is where you start.

I don't know you so i am out of any deal like that.

It would be for their once fired brass. They shoot and save their brass, but don't reload.

tax and legal liability; not guessing

One may reload someone's fired cases and sell them those reloads without incurring Federal Excise Tax liability.
One might not escape local tax liability.

One will be liable if something goes wrong with one of those reloads.

I most highly recommend avoiding this path UNLESS your reloads are of the absolute highest quality.

Your results may vary.

Just wondering, if you have all that good loaded ammo what do you need the brass for? If it were me I would just shoot my ammo and save the brass.

A fellow at one of the local shows sells reloads with brass trades.
His exchange rate for common pistol rounds is:
$35 per 1,000 of name brand, once fired brass, and $15 - $20 per box of ammo, with lead bullets.
But he is a professional and has about a million dollars of liability insurance.

WESHOOT2 has given you the best answer so far. No matter how meticulous you are no one is without error 100% of the time.
If something does go wrong, is once fired brass worth the price of losing everything you own?
This is a lawyer’s world in which they rule.

in defense of perfection; know what I mean?

I admit to this: None of my commercial ammo ever failed. I assumed every rd manufactured, even remanufactured training ammo, might be called on to save a life.

I cannot say the same about ammo I've made for myself
Some has failed
