5.56/.223 in stock at CTD: 12:00am. 1/5/13

For those of you so inclined. Personally I won't be buying anything from them in the immediate future, but it's there and it's a free world, so the info is passed.

I won't be doing business either. I looked at their offerings and as I expected prices are out of sight. They are averaging over a dollar a round for .223 ammo. I have no problem with them making what people are willing to pay but they won't be getting any of my money.

It's still available at less than half of that cost.

I won't be using them again. On their website at one point they had DE Pmags on for $60+ a piece.

Blatant price gouging by a big name operation - that's their choice. My choice is now any one of the myriad of competitors they have.

CTD=. Cheaper Than Dirt, which at this point is something of a joke.

They have been over price on ammo and if not on ammo then on the shipping price... I would buy anything from them.

This thread will be closed soon, but I will get in my .02 I am also disappointed in CTD yea yea I know captialism and they have the right to charge what they want. That's fine they can do that, but I have a choice also and I will bad mouth them on every forum I participate in.... I understand charging a little more, but they went way overboard IMO 1000 rds of 5.56 went from $599.99 to $999.99 overnight Come on $400.00 increase literally overnight

Then there is the fact that when they were selling that particular ammo for $599 per thousand plus shipping, I could buy it locally for $350 out the door.

Seems to be 3-4 times as much listed in stock now as there was when I made the original post, and the price appears to be running about $1.30-ish a round now. Capitalism at its ugliest it appears....

My guess is the mfgrs got caught by surprise (didn't we all) and will need a short while to spool up production to fill these shelves back up, but in the meantime places like CTD are suck people dry for as long as they can.

Companies that roll on us or gouge us will not get any more of my money.

Well their true colors have come out! They are opportunistic. From everything thing I've heard, they are also less than honest, cancelling accepted orders so that they can jack the price up and relist it.

The only thing I hope is that we all give them the attention they deserve (none) long term.

Some people should be allowed to pay exorbitant amounts of money to coward mainstream suppliers.

Less likely for the ammo suppliers I do like to be overwhelmed with purchases
