SMLE Stock Interchangability

I posted this on the Rifle forum, no response, so I'll put it where it belongs, and trust to luck...

Anyone know if an Ishapore 2A (the 7.62x39 60's SMLE) will take the stock for a standard No 1 Mk III?

I've heard the parts are nearly the same size (and that the magazines will latch in either). I know that my Ishy would have an incorrect buttplate due to the different placement of the stock bolt hole.

If no one knows about the foreends, does anyone know about the buttstocks in particular?

Also, I have been unable to find this fact anywhere online. If anyone has a link, a quick post would answer this question for me just as well.

Thanks!
