Does anybody here have any experience with this round?
Would it make a good deer hunting/target shooting round
from a 10" Encore barrel?
thanks

I only shoot the round in a pistol caliber AR15. There is a good write up on it in Nosler's #4 Reloading Guide about a fellow using a Rem. XP-100 on mule deer. IMHO it should work.

I have been using the 7 BR in a 10" Encore for a couple of years now and I love it for Silhouette. It is very accurate and the recoil is fairly low.
My son just took a 195 lb Whitetail at 120yds with this gun.
The load was 31.6 gr. AA2460,CCI400, Sierra 130gr Single Shot Pistol Bullet. C.O.L. was 2.312" which in my barrel is .015" off the rifling. I cronoed this load at 2075fps.
The bullet went in right behind the shoulder and shredded the heart and both lungs , struck an offside rib and exited leaving a large exit wound. The deer went 30 ft.
My favorite Sil load is:
28.5gr AA2460, CCI400, Remigton 150gr PSP
