Rear sight change

After about 700 rounds, my Ruger p-95 is shooting high despite the shooter. It is otherwise perfect just 2-3 inches high.

I spoke with Ruger and they sent me a lower profile rear sight.

How do I get the rear sight off. I removed the hex nut and tried tapping with a rubber hammer but it won't budge. Am I missing something???

TIA

Sleepy

The firing pin block and spring are in a recess under the rear sight. You need to disassemble the slide prior to changing the sights. George
