The nicest range I have ever seen is the Associated Gun Clubs of Baltimore range in Marriotsville.

for the marriotsville range you have to be a memer of some group and pay this and do that. for a range you can just drive up to and shoot at you are very limited. in cecil county they have the elk neck state forest range. its an outdoor 115yd range which is nice. its $10/day. i frequently head down to the NRA range. 50yd indoor: http://www.nrahq.org/shootingrange/nrahqrange/
this area defiantely sucks, id love to have an excuse to get a nice long range rifle... for pistols, theres also gilberts(never been, probably never will) on target, and maryland small arms |

Westminster might not be too far for you.
The Hap Baker Range is located at the Carroll County Landfill on route 140. Decent enough rifle range, about 12 lanes total I think with two lanes out to 200 yards, and they recently completed a dedicated handgun range - both are covered and dry, but extremely cold in the winter! |

Funny I should find this post, I've been wondering the same thing.
I'm probably going to end up joinging the local Isaak Walton league, partly for the free range access, partly because I believe in their goals for conservation in this area. What is the cost for the Hap Baker range? I am quite close to Carroll Cty, and my dad is a resident of Sykesville, which is just a little below Westminster. |

Baker Range is $15a day, or $75 a year for non Carroll County residents. It's considerably cheaperfor in county residents since the range is run by the county.
From Sykesville, just head up 32 to 97 to 140, make a right on 140 and go a few miles until you see a sign for the county landfill on the left. About 15 minutes from Sykesville. Neat little Main Street Sykesville has...... |

Check out http://www.wheretoshoot.org/wts_search.asp and enter a zip, area code, or a state. The results will probably bring up a few ranges close enough to you.

www.packing.org also has a range finder. Just click on gun ranges, and enter your area code and what mile radius you want to search within, and it will give you a list of ranges along with some info about those ranges like if they rent pistols, how long the range is, etc.
