Yes
Yes
Depends on how thick headed they are.
The guns themselves are very strong.

+1 on what Jim said. I just wouldn't want the .22 rimfire, if we are talking about .22 rimfire, to be my first and only choice.

Longetivity and strength, depends, a $60 FIE ain't a Ruger single six. But generally yes a .22 revolver should last several lifetimes.

Penetrating a human skull, depends on ammo and the person, but generally yes, I shoot pigs in the head all the time with satisfactory results.

For self defence you need something else.

Please don't think the .22LR is a toy! It is a very dangerous weapon. More people are killed with a .22 than any other caliber.
It may not be the best caliber for defense, but make no mistake-if you can shoot it accurately it will do the job.

Yea, it sorta creeps us out when a new members first question is about killing someone, or what will work to do it, in theory, of course(!?) Sorta like going to a fireworks forum and your first question as a new member is like, how many sticks of dynamite would it take to blow up an armored car.

These are stupid questions, but that's ok.
Take a .22 revolver, and shoot the fattest yellow pages you can find (or a couple fat phone books) and shoot it at 50 feet. What you find will answer your questions better than words.

They say that more people outside of war have been killed by the 22LR than any other caliber.

I think its a pretty useful caliber. It's cheap and fun to shoot too. Why do you ask King O?

The Mossad did/does not use the tip-barrel Berettas.

King O - Your questions are inappropriate. It almost sounds like you're planning something illegal.

Yes,a 22 revolver will kill someone.

But it is way more likely to maim them for life then kill them.

A 22 lr revolver might get you killed if you go up against a very large bad guy and shoot him in the stomach area.

This is because the 22 bullets might stop in his fatty area of his stomach and never get to somewhere the bullets can damage something enough to make him stop from killing you with his bare hands or a gun he is carrying.

Yes,22 bullets can penetrate a door depending on what the door is made of.

Interior doors that are just two pieces of balsa wood, the bullets will go right through them.

Steel fire doors that separate fire zones probably not.

Car doors,I would'nt count on it.

Penetrate a skull?

Depends on ALOT of things.

Again, this round is made to hunt small game and target shoot cheaply.

It is NOT made to engage full grown, crazed, homicidal human beings.

A skull shot might bounce off or it might penetrate depending on where it hit the skull and at what angle or range.

Jame Brady took a very ugly amount of damage because the idiot (who walks among us today) was right next to his head when he fired.

( Why is the idiot who shot Brady not pushing up daisys? Why go after the guns and NOT the shooter?)

How many shots would it take to put a man down?

One - if it was a perfectly performing bullet under perfect conditions.

You could empty the gun and the bad guy could kill you before he died under real world conditions.

How strong is a 22 revolver really?

Strong enough to shoot rabbits, groundhogs squirrels, rats and any other small game you can think of.

The Park Service used to use 22 long rifle caliber rifles to kill troublesome cougars back in the old days.

And they are absolutely outstanding target and plinking handguns.

The 22 long rifle round has been around for over one hundred years and still today continues to be one of the best cartridges ever designed.

Next question.

You folks are certainly wasting alot of advice on what would appear to be a guy asking some sort of "gangsta" questions. If I were the mod I would dump the whole thing.

He just did.

The questions are subjective and will have any number of different answers. However, since TFL is all about responsible firearms usage along with the fact that no reasons were given for asking the questions, none of the questions are appropriate for the Revolver forum; maybe the Tactics and Training forum, but I doubt they are appropriate for even that forum.
