Sonoran Desert Institute Smithing School
Has anyone heard/trained from this school? I am looking for a good Smithing School in the Phoenix area with hands on training and am curious if anyone could assist me in finding a creditable school so I don't waste my time/money.
Thanks |

Hi. First, despite all the naysayers, gunsmithing is a great trade. There's plenty of work, customers are mostly appreciative, and you can make a good living if you're honest and have a strong work ethic. I don't think SDI can give you hands on experience as they are a correspondence school. Closest real school to you is Yavapei, and I loved it there. Alternative is the AGI DVD course and I recommend it highly. Who wouldn't want to learn from Bob Dunlap?
You'll get a lot conflicting information, so do your homework and then go for it!
