mn coyote hunters

Just wondering if there are any SE mn coyote hunters out there? I've noticed the coyote numbers seem pretty high this year from word of mouth. Wondering if anyone else has noticed the same. Also, have you been having better luck in the am or pm? Thanks.

I've gotten one so far this year on my first trip out which was supposed to be a scouting trip. I'm pretty excited to see what the season has in store. I've talked to quite a few deer hunting friends and they have seen between 7 & 9 a piece vs seeing 2 to 3 for their whole party. Just wondering if anyone else has seen the increase. Thanks for your response.

most people either leave them after they are shot since they see them as a pest. or use them as a furbearer and remove the hide to sell or use for themselves. most people at the mention of eating them get all weird since its kind of like a dog. however, you CAN eat them, and the few that i've read about that have, seem to enjoy it very much. a good amount of meat on them too... being that they eat deer and rabbits and such it dosent seem like their diet would make them taste bad at all. w/ that said i havent tried one yet.

I hope I am not opening up a can of worm. I must have been very hungry to cook up a coyote....
