Equipment
Welcome to TFL !!!!!
Put the word out WTB & see what turns up , reloaders upgrade or have old or just plain too many of whatever & sell em off. The 1 thing I would`nt skimp on is a good set of beam scales & check weights. What caliber or calibers ya gonna start with ???

I will be reloading 308, 243, 223, 45 acp, 38 special, and 7.62x39 but I am just going to start out with a few of the rifle calibers.

Natchez shooters supply. Their shipping is higher if the order is small. But if you are purchasing a few different items I think their price and service are the best

I would recommend starting out with a book "The ABC's of Reloading" to learn what is needed so you're not buying things you really don't need. Then get several manuals, Hornady, Speer, and others will give you the load information you need. Then put WTB ads on this and other forums for specific equipment. That should get you on the road.

Graf's has flat rate shipping. About $5 for any order if memory serves.
Also, RCBS is offering rebates now. $10 back on $50 orders or $50 back on a $300 purchase.

Go used. Well made equipment will outlast the original purchaser, this could allow you to buy higher grade equipment at less than new cheap stuff prices. You may want to poke around local garage and estate sales. Lots of people end up sell grandpa's old shooting stuff for next to nothing because they don't know what it is an have no use for it.

I have done well at estate sales, you have to know what your looking at, and what your willing to pay.
The same goes for Ebay there are some good buys on older equipment. Some of the stuff always goes for big $$$, but many times there are good buys. |

Ebay works for me. I did a reloading trial to see just how little you could spend and get started reloading.

Cheap? I attended the Market Hall Gun show last week end. I found a 30/06 FL RCBS die set with a RCBS neck sizer die, $15.00, I did not need the 2 die set or the neck sizer die but for $15.00, for me not a problem but the owner if the dies was a believer in securing the dies and everything attached even though all the securing nuts were knurled (meaning hand tight), so no one was interested in the rough appearance of the securing nuts.
Affordable, let me know what press you would like to start with and brand of dies, and cases, what cases are you interested in or looking for? Shell holders, I am told Herters shell holders are expensive, again, Herters' shell holders are one of my favorite, for a different reason. And scales? I have scales, lots of scales. F. Guffey |

At on estate sale, there was a single die on a shelf, they wanted $5 for it. Nothing ventured nothing gained so I sprung the $5, what the heck gotta be good for something.
When I was able to read the small stamping on the die it said Dillon taper crimp die 30-06, thats a $27 die from Dillon. You can do well just look. |

Other options:
1. If you're lucky, there may be a gushop that sells used reloading equip. It won't be one of the big box stores. 2. Garage sales. Rare, but it happens. 3. Gun shows. Again, getting rarer, but once in a while there are some good used equipment values there. 4. Ask your shooting buddies. When I finally got into reloading, by buddies offered me several key pieces of equip. IIRC, I got a balance beam scale, trickler, and an OLD single stage press given to me. Bought a powder measure used. Bought dies used. I remember being out of pocket less than $100 when I started turning out rounds.

Factory Sales has the best prices on Lee equipment. Just make sure they have the stuff in stock before you order.

Reloading equipment
LEE the best value in reloading. I've used Lee equipment exclusively and have been completely satisfied with their products.

Look for sportsman swaps at local clubs, I have done well at them. Last swap there was a Herters press, built like a tank for $15 too bad I'm out of bench space.
But I've found a RCBS A2, Texas Turret, and a Lyman lubricator at different swaps. All at good prices. The last two shotgun presses were from a car swap, MEC 600Jr Mk5(410) and a MEC 650 (12ga) $50 for both. The good buys are there you just have to look for them. |

You ask:
"Does anybody know of a place that sells cheaper reloading equipment than Midway USA and Cheaper Than Dirt?" Then said: "If anyone has any used reloading equipment I am willing to buy it if it is what I am lookong for" Then I said and ask: "Cheap? I attended the Market Hall Gun show last week end. I would suggest checking estate sales or garage sales, so you can verify what you are looking at before you buy it.
If you are patient, you can get something for unbelievably low cost. (I read of a NIB Dillon 550B that went for $55...) On the other hand, this could take quite a while before you acquire everything you need. If you want it now, there may not be such a thing as a free lunch.
