For what it's worth, I would have preferred a base model "classic" 84M stock, but Kimber only makes the .257 Roberts in "Classic Select" and up. Fortunately I was able to get it used.

I do not hunt, but this is my go to centerfire bolt action rifle when I take the kids to the range.

Try some Berger 115 gr VLD bullets in your 257, you'll be impressed.

Shot the best with Nosler Custom Trophy Grade Accubond +P 110 gr factory ammo.

But I am not sure if that was because those are the best for this rifle or because I shot those after shooting about 30 rounds with other cartridges and it took that long to get the barrel "broken in"

Darn, I will just have to go back and try out those other cartridges again

Nice weapon you have there. My first rifle was a .257 Roberts. Unfortunately, it was stolen by the contractor who was doing some work on my house while I was in the big sandbox overseas. Didn't discover it was missing til I got home as my wife doesn't ever get into gun safe. Wouldn't have mattered if she did, she wouldn't know if anything thing were missing or out of place.

We recovered it after he was arrested on other charges a couple years ago but it's totally unserviceable and unsafe to fire.

It should have read Put My Kimber .257 Roberts in MY Woodpile.
I stubbed my toe running out to my wood pile.

I have owned a number of Kimber 1911’s and have always been highly impressed with their products, the fit, finish and reliability. I know that I’m going to get bashed by saying this, but I do feel that Kimber is one of the best 1911 manufactures.
As far as their rifles no one near where I live carries them and I have only seen one at a gun show but the owner wouldn’t let it out of the box. But man, what a nice piece of wood you have there. The one he had was similar.
I’ll be interested in hearing a range report.

Nice rifle. It looks much better on the woodpile than it would on my oil barrel.

I would be afraid of scratching that weapon, I doubt I would even take it out of the case! Nice! Accurate too!

Beautiful rifle and even a better cartridge choice.

If you reload, you can make up loads with lighter loads for varmints. My favorite is an 86 grain bullet which is death on coyotes.
