Three Period Scopes On Three Vintage Guns

Just for the fun of it, I've bought, played with and sold more than a handful of older scopes.

I've now sold off all but three and have acquired two newer Leupolds for range work.

Here are the three I am keeping.

1954 Lyman 4x:

1957 or so 4x Mountaineer:

1949 Weaver K2.5:

eye candy

It was a real treat looking at your old rifles and scopes. Rigs like that were what many adults were hunting with when I first started as a kid,and your pics are much appreciated.

How is the Savage chambered?

I'm partial to those classics too. It's probably my bias that causes me to think of them as "real" guns. A 99 like that (in 300 SAV) taught me that crawling the stock can lead to an extra eyebrow.

The Model 70 is still the cleanest looking bolt hunting rifle made. Great photos.
