Anyone have a ball park on what a Colt Ace - circa 1940, maybe earlier - would be worth? Excellent mechanical shape, about 85% finish, very minor surface pits on grip frame.

Hi, Jim

The famous (or infamous) Blue Book shows $500 in 60% up to $2600 in new codition. 85% comes out at about $800+. This is if the 85% means that there is wear but 85% of the bluing is intact. For some reason, many of those seem to have had rough handling with a fair amount of blue, but it is rust specked.

Incidentally, those guns need to be kept clean and prefer high velocity ammo. Some low power target ammo (PMC especially) just won't work them.
