1901 H&R 12 Gauge Shotgun Help needed

I have a 1901 H&R single shot 12 gauge shotgun. I tore this gun down and when I tried extracting the screw for the firing pin, 1/2 of the screw head broke off. The area is too small to work in a socket to try to extract the other side of the screw head. What I need is information where I can find an exploded view of this gun to see how big the screw is so that my machine shop guy can take it out. Once he knows the size, length, type of the thread, and the head size of the screw, he will be able to repair it for me. Again I either need to know the size, thread, and length of this screw or an exploded view of this gun.

Any help would be appreciated.
Gordon

Welcome, Gordon.

You may do better posting this down in The Smithy, where the smiths hang out. I'll leave this up JIC.

Good luck!!

Actually, that gun has about zero value. Don't spend to much getting it fixed.

Thank you

Thank you both for your input. I only paid $40.00 for the gun. It only needs the fire pin screw removed, a new fire pin spring installed and then a new screw put back in and this gun is good enough to fire. I am going some reblueing training on it but otherwords, after it is fired once, it will become a wall hanger or sold to someone collecting these old guns.

Steve's pages is great and will give downloads of old gun manuals with exploded views. But, I've never seen one with actual screw specifications.

Perhaps calling H&R can get you that data
