Which Glock for concealed carry?? G19 vs G26?

I'm looking to buy a Glock for concealed carry and was wondering which one I should get. I'm looking into the G19 and the G26, here's a G26 I'm interested in.

Opinions? Sure.
My opinion is such that if you can carry the 19 and get away with it, do it.
If you can't or you can imagine yourself leaving the house without the gun because it's too big get the 26.
If the 26 still makes you want to leave the house without a gun get the Sig P238. . . . etc.

I want the capacity of the G19, it just seems to large for everyday carry. And I don't want to go down to a 380. The G26 might be the ticket.

I have both and end up carrying them about the same. Generally speaking, the decision on which one to carry comes down to the fit of my shirt. I carry them IWB so if the shirt is a little tighter I go with the 26 for less printing. Either will server you well though.

Since I got my G26 and have been carrying it AIWB in a nice holster I've wondered why I didn't get one years ago. It seems to do everything really well, and is very 'shootable' just like the larger 19. Because I carry appendix style, I'm glad I got the shorter 26 instead of the 19, just for general comfort (especially while sitting or driving).

Also, the 26 can go 'bigger' with extensions, and can also use the larger mags of the 19 or 17. The 19 can't go 'smaller', and can't use the smaller flush 10 round mags of the 26.

NYPD 34,000+ strong and most carry the G26 off duty including my kid with no real complaints. I carry the G27. End of story.

I carry a G19 and never had any problems with concealment. The g26 is just too small for my hands. For a smaller gun, I just carry my LCP.

This is a good discussion. I have a 26 (that I love) and have been thinking of replacing with a 19 for capacity. Since I know I will never sell the 26 I wonder if I can justify a 26, 19, and 17!

Another vote for th G26. It will accept G19 mags, so theoretically you can have the option of both. Also there are the 12 round mags for the 26 that give a full three finger purchase on the grip, but still have a gun smaller than the G19.

I carry a G26. Though I could easily conceal a G19...I just like the G26 and carry a spare G19 mag.

I have a 26 and recommend it highly. The baby Glock, though it even makes a fine range gun. Why go bigger?

I cannot shoot the 26 and 27 well at all. No problems with the 19's though.

I had a G19 and now have a G27 which is the same size as a G26 but in 40, I carry the G27 ten times more that I ever carried the G19.

Of the 2, I'd lean towards a Glock 26 9x19mm for deep concealment & portability, but the Glock 19 is fine too.
I'm looking into the Glock Gen 04 special FDE version(dark brown frame with black parts) in the 19 format. I'm not crazy about the new style RTF-02 but I'm left handed & want a Glock I can use on security details outdoors in my area.

I had a 26, but it was only comfortable for me with the pinky extension, which negated it's only advantage. So I bumped up to the 19. Carried great.

Maybe you can explain this, if the 26 is too small for your hand how can the LCP work for your hands?
I'm assuming you're not just carrying the gun, that you plan on holding it should you need to use it.

if you can conceal the 19 i would go for it before the 26...i like to have all 4 fingers on the grip...my pinky feels lonely when it is just hanging off the bottom of the grip

I presently flip flop between a G19 and LCP, but I am gonna add a G26 to the mix soon.

I wondered the same thing. Doesnt make much sense. i personally find the g26 to fit very well, but the lcp was wayyy to small. The g26 is much biggeer than the lcp, so if its too small, I dont know how a gun 1/3 the size is ok.

The 19 is an excellent gun, but can be slightly large for everyday carry.

I recommend the G26 or G27 with extended mag & mag sleeve. Then you'll get a nice grip similar to the 19, but a shorter barrel length, slightly smaller frame and lighter weight. You will carry this way more than a 19 in most cases, and the point of a carry weapon is to be able and willing to carry it at all times.

Used to think the same thing 'till I actually shot a 26. Found it works amazingly well, and that in fact the pinky can actually reduce accuracy, especially on a Glock where the pinky often doesn't quite reach around the grip at the knuckle like the other two fingers do.
