Marlin Scope Base Screw Measurements
Can anyone tell me the size and thread count for the standard scope base screws on a Marlin 1895?
I have a receiver sight meant for an 1895 that I plan to mount on another rifle. It came with the mounting screws meant to fit the Marlin so I figured I'd just use those. I can get the major diameter, but I'm not set up to accurately measure the thread count. If someone can tell me these measurements, I can then buy the right drill and tap to get started on my mounting job. Thanks for the help dwwhite |

I can't remember exactly if it's 8-40 or 10-32, but know they're larger than the usual 6-48 used on most other rifles.
